Honor History

August 21st 2010. Out of the old confederate property exit a WWII Veteran to go on an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to visit all the wonderful memorials. A guardian was assigned go guide him and take care of him. It was a one day charter flight to honor the WWII veterans. They all wore a bright yellow t-shirt with meaningful writings. "If you read English, thank a teacher. If you speak English, thank a Veteran". The guardian wore a gray t-shirt. At their return into the Montgomery airport there were hundreds of people to welcome them as heroes. Every waiving hand held an American flag. It was very touching to see people of all ages shaking the old veterans hands and thanking them for the good life they enjoyed because of their sacrifices. Some were on wheelchairs, others used walkers, few walked on their own. Their weathered faces looked very tired but they all had a glow of satisfaction. They were finally recognized as he heroes they were to offer their lives for their children's future well being and mostly for their Country. It was a beautiful show of Patriotism. We should go back to be proud of our Country and our God. Protect our Country and thank our God to give us the strength to protect it.
